READING PLUS® AND THE NEW AMERICA COLLEGE LAUNCH ELL RESEARCH STUDY

Winooski, VT – August 9, 2011 – Taylor Associates and Denver-based The New America College jointly announced today the launch of a study to determine the effects of the Reading Plus® silent reading intervention on international students who are English-language learners. The study will be conducted with students who are preparing for examinations such as the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and are pursuing higher education in which the primary instructional language is English. New – Pronunciation Course – Monday – Thursday afternoons from 1:15 – 2:15 p.m.

This course is available to students of all levels. The focus will be on connected speech features, such as stress, rhythm, intonation and linking as well as the vowel and consonant sounds of the English language. Individual student needs will be assessed and addressed. Announcement: The New America College to Offer Two New Courses : International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Preparation and Business Principles and Management

The New America College (NAC) is pleased to announce that this fall we will begin offering an intensive language program for students wishing to write the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) standardized test as well as a Business Principles and Management Course.

The price point for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) program is extremely competitive at $500 per month for 72 hours of instruction. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) program will be offered for 10 months with 720 hours of instruction per year starting August 15, 2011.

Currently, NAC offers Beginner (ELA 1), Intermediate (ELA 2), Advanced (ELA 3) Certificate Programs and a TOEFL Preparation course.
